The Peace Child

I had to read this book for my Acts class, but it was so worth it! Amazing book to read if you're into missions, it's basically about this couple in the 70's (true story) who turns a tribe in New Guinea from cannibals into Christ followers. So powerful, I highly recommend it!

I think most books have left an impression on me. This was one of the few that I can see the impression and relate it back to the specific book.
I'm pretty sure the reason I value empathy is partly because of this book (the whole key thing), and it's also part of the reason missions seem possible (and so why I chose the medical field).

I don't remember if it was this one, or the sequel where he mentions building the airstrip and the glass eye (I read them before 1994, while I was in jr high).
