Tom and Jerry are liars

I found out today that mice don't like cheese. If you're anything like me, you have believed the myth for years that cute little mice gravitate towards cheese...and cheese is usually found in a mouse trap. How did this myth even begin? Did it originate with the creators of Tom and Jerry? And if so, why did they think, "Hey, what's a cute little food we can have Jerry chase after? Oh -- how about cheese?"

I am disappointed. Disappointed that for the past 28 years I have been fooled into thinking mice adore cheese. Disappointed in realizing what a profound effect cartoons have held on my animal knowledge. Disappointed that Jerry is a liar.

At least Paul Bunyan and his big blue ox is real...if I found out that was a myth I might freak out even more.

Do NOT tell Craig! He loves that "Who moved my cheese" book!
What ARE you supposed to put in the mousetrap?

Peanut butter, obviously.

I put cheese in a mousetrap once and caught a mouse with it! So I don't know...Can I just say that it is somewhat traumatic to kill a mouse. I hope I don't have to do it again.
